Blue Spring Outfit

by - 02 May

I jetted off to the sunshine state of California. You’ll all know this from all my excitement in my packing vlogs and Instagram.

Five days in and the jet lag has finally worn off but I still can’t seem to get California out of my head. So I’m bringing you a whole lot of outfit posts, what I wore to the beach and stuff I did in California. Let me tell you, I went to all the places I’ve always dreamt of in southern California, from Los Angeles to Hollywood!

I’ve already posted a ton of outfits on my Instagram to serve as inspiration for what to wear in sunny California. It is like a dry hot desert out there, rattle snakes included – but I shall save that for the future posts.

On my first day I wore a long sleeved boxy top from Glamorous. It’s the perfect amount of baggy for the heat and girly with the gorgeous bell sleeves. I love that these sleeves don’t go all over your food, they’re just the right size. If you’ve been following me on the spaces for a while you will all know that I love a bit of blue. I went all blue with this outfit from the hat right down to the shoes and honestly it was all unintentional.

I love the floral beading. When I ordered it online it looked embroidered which I would have been just as happy with but when you add beading to the mix it just makes this my new favourite top. I get so many compliments on this and can even wear it in breezy England.

Can I just take a moment to tell you how much I adore tassels? I’m a bit of a hippie and this top is so Free People-esque. Free people is a brand that epitomises my style but I find a bit expensive. So the tops like this from Glamorous are so much more affordable.

You can make the tassels as along and as short as you like. I wanted to make them long so that the threaded white hits my navy smart shorts.

I actually asked you guys to let me know what blue shorts I should take with me these or some dark denim ones in my Instagram stories and you all spoke.

The straw fedora is a nice alternative to the usual shades of straw-tan people wear on holiday. I opted for blue because it’s a little bit different but also goes with every outfit.

I have been on the hunt for a classy but comfy all season heel. These can be styled up even for a wedding. I can only trust heels with a bit of platform and these ones are generous which is why they’re so comfy. The buckle is a beautiful chunky gold and the straps are a subtle faux snake skin print.

You may have noticed by now that I’ve gone au naturel with this look. I left my wavy hair down and when the weather is so hot you don’t really want to be wearing make up. I felt so relaxed especially because my skin has been doing so well since suffering from acne.
